Mashrabiya Notebooks 2015

Design of the 2015 commercial notebook collection for Kuwaiti brand Zeri Crafts, charged with heritage and symbolism.
The laser diecut patterns are inspired by hanbaliyas from bedouine Sadu crafts as well as Islamic rosettes, forming a play of light and shadow much like mashrabiyas, the lattice work typical of Arabic architecture. Artisanal gilded edges in gold foil give it a premium status, and the square format, natural proportion of the brand’s identity, distinguish these from other notebooks. We maximize available resources to obtain 15 different models with only 4 inks and 3 patterns.
